PCD was founded in 2001 by Paul Chang, an east-coast transplant and devoted Red Sox fan. Before PCD, Paul consulted for Exponent in Menlo Park, California, one of the nation's leading engineering and scientific consulting firms. He earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University in mechanical engineering with concentrations in design theory and computer aided design.
